The Urban Forest Foundation was established by visionary leaders of UCFS in 2006. The Foundation is dedicated to creating and supporting projects and programs that advance the dissemination and implementation of research developed in the fields of arboriculture and urban forestry to benefit people, trees, and the urban environment.
All of the Urban Forest Foundation’s activities serve two fundamental purposes, (1) to promote the education of people who practice municipal arboriculture and manage the urban and community forest, and (2) to promote public understanding of the value of urban trees. Both purposes lessen the burden of the government by improving management of urban forest resources, enabling sharing of expertise, and facilitating public and community involvement in the oversight of valuable community assets.
